It Hangs on My Heart
A sheepish persona traversing slender actions unseen
The spirit of something Divine
Gifts treasured in a blanket of internal sanctuary
Blossoming features of duplicity
Graves marked only by the people who visit them
Time carries on in limited disclosure
Regrets come from a placid place of inner knowledge
Trying to break from complacent postures of indifference
Kissing the honey lips of silence
Troublesome dreams...
Or maybe a prophetic symbol of the time at hand
Which power divinely empowers you?
Speak of secrets unheard
Travel with the lightness of spring in gypsies poses
Every step a deeply seeded secret—a gift
What to pass on and what to keep personal and private
Neil Diamond sings “Stones” in a meter of time unparalleled
Creeping into the places not yet protected
Keeping close to the heart of your soul—today—always
Will you play me like a record?
With all the scratches and skips as in days of past times long ago
The flesh and the spirit collide—responsive to the true nature of life
This is what hangs on my heart

What do you have for me today?

Her inward position was distorted and grey. Life shouldn't be so complicated and yet, it always had been. What was the purpose of this exercise she thought to herself? Shall I go on floundering about until the day I die? Her thoughts turned inward to her dreams. They were most always grey and in some way they brought her comfort...

SPACE MONKEY COFFEEHOUSE PRESENTS

The artworks of Cassandra Schreiber
aka Cricket'

I will be displaying six larger paintings and various smaller works. The event begins at 6pm and goes until 8pm. After that they will be displayed for the month of January 2011. I have arranged to incorporate a poetry reading of some of my favorites and may have a couple other budding poets share as well. Coffee, Pastries and heatable wraps will be available for sale by the Fabulous Barista, Tom. This establishment is open to all ages. I'm hoping to have a silent auction for an artwork created by my darling nieces and nephew. All money collected for this work will be donated to a charity that has yet to be decided upon. As soon as we know; I will post.

This is an exciting time for me as I step out onto the public stage. I plan to enjoy every moment and I hope many of you will be able to attend. Thank you to everyone who has supported me along the way.

Small Treasures--Big Return

Small Treasures--Big Return by Cricket*11/2009

It's amazing to me how the tiniest evening task can bring so much joy. Tonight my youngest son came home early and when he walked through the door; I jumped up and made dinner. I prepared nothing too special: sirloin patty, baked potato, & corn. We sat and we ate together, engaging in small talk and discussing the day’s events as we charted our course for the day ahead tomorrow. I found myself absorbed in the warmth of an all encompassing love and joy. I felt that tiny ever expanding emotion welling up inside of me that causes me to realize that this experience is all that I've ever wanted out of life and that on this day; I have been truly blessed. There is no thing better to me than these simple, but bountiful moments in time.

My Name

My name is Cassie, but I've been writing, drawing, painting and many other multi-media art forms under the name Of Cricket™ since 1982.
